I'm so thrilled you have found my blog! Lovely that you are here!
Let me introduce myself. I'm a mum and my name is Jean, hence The Mummy Gene. Most days I feel like I have been blessed with an adequate portion of The Mummy Gene, however occasionally I do wonder where I was when that particular gene was being handed out :) Despite this, on all days I feel blessed to be Wife to my best friend and hot husband of 13 years and Mum to three great kids who make me laugh so hard and love so deeply. Only Daughter (7), Son #1 (6) and Son #2 (3) keep me busier than I thought possible, crazier than I care to admit and just plain exhausted.
Pre-kids Jean (a memory lurks of a slimmer version of me that took for granted so much, including toileting in privacy and weekend sleep ins - or quite frankly, sleep) enjoyed primary teaching. To satisfy my teaching appetite now, I do a little relief (substitute) teaching and have begun to think about a return to full-time teaching in the not too distant future. Much with The Mummy Gene, I am happy to have been given a portion of The Teacher Gene. True as the adage is that not all teachers are parents but all parents are teachers, the teaching profession continues to call and when my youngest begins school next year, I dare say I will follow soon after.
This blog houses my journey in mothering and teaching. I hope you will have a look around here and find some mummy or teacher tips and resources that are helpful to you.
